Post [C2 KB] Uninstalling removes different software.
Uninstalling removes different software.
Issue: A customer asked for some assistance with Creatures 2, she could not play the game and should could not install it. When she clicked on the uninstall icon in the Start Bar, she was asked if she would like to remove a different software package.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Analysis: This issue was caused because the customer had installed Creatures 2 to the default root directory. All the files had been installed to the C: and were not in the expected Creatures 2 folder. This meant that the Creatures 2 uninstall file was being confused with another uninstall file on the same root directory.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Resolution: The only way around this is to create a Creatures 2 Directory and then copy all of the correct files to it. Once all the files are present, reinstall the software to the same directory to update all the registry keys.
