C1 Norns fare better in C2 compared to C2 Norns
Issue: Creatures 1 Norns converted to C2 seem to do better than Creatures 2 Norns. Norns are alternatively reported to be either sterile or extremely prolific.
Analysis: The Nornverter reads the C1 Norn’s genome and extracts certain details. It then uses an appropriate existing C2 Norn as a template and updates the template with the details from the C1 genome. Because there are major changes in the biochemistry and brain and even gaits between the two versions of Creatures, very little of that information is relevant so the C1 Norn gets a total makeover. The only things that can be feasibly preserved are some of the words it has learned (categories have also been changed so some of those are no longer relevant either), its gender, genus, moniker, mother and father monikers, name, colouring, and other superficial things. It is likely that an isolated incident resulted in hardier Norns. When a creature is imported into C2 only certain parts of the genome are re-expressed, this means that the Nornverter also has to load into its C2 Norn template the correct stage of biochemistry for each Norn converted. This means that any post-adolescent Norn that was imported would possess an infant biochemistry forever. Pre-adolescent imported Norns would subsequently hit puberty, and the correct genes would be expressed and all would be fine from then on. That explains the conflicting reports of some people having rampant converted Norns and others having sterile converted Norns! It may also be that these underdeveloped converted Norns were hardier compared to fully developed Norns since they never had to go through the stress of puberty.
Resolution: There is an update of the Nornverter in the 1.0.38 executable update on the Creatures 2 section of the support website that corrects the biochemistry information.

I don't think death is scary if anything it's an adventure. I often wonder what it would be like... Will God let me have one small request when I die?... or am I just stuck with what I get when I go? - Me in a moment of well...being me.
