Words in foreign language versions are too long for speech bubbles
Issue: In some foreign language versions of Creatures 2, the words are far too long to show up completely in the speech bubble.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Analysis: The original version of the game had the words for the language computers hard-wired in and in some cases, particularly German, the words were too long and were truncated. Long words will appear truncated on learning machine displays. The learning machine still remembers the full word - it just cannot display it all.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Resolution: An updated executable is now available which allows the word list to be edited. Once this update is installed and Creatures 2 is run, it looks for a file called "vocab" in the main directory. It is a pipe-delimited ('Ý') list of words, which can be edited like any other text file.If found, it will be used as the default wordlist. If not found, the default wordlist embedded in the program resources is used instead, and a vocab file will be created from this.

The user can edit the vocab file and change the words. The only restriction is that words must be less than 24 characters long. The vocab file may be safely deleted, as the game will automatically recreate it.
